How To Reduce The risk Of Plastic Pollution by making a positive lifestyle change?

Making a world where plastic does not exist sound surreal based upon plastic influx, production and usage by millions of people across our planet. However, as an individual and community we can reduce the usage of plastic by going step by step. There are alternatives by which we can adopt a positive lifestyle where plastic is used in the minima. Today we have gathered some of the steps that we can initiate in our daily lifestyle to reduce our plastic pollution, one stride at a time.

Thinking of drinking water? Start Carrying your Water Bottle

Wherever I go, my thermos goes everywhere with me. Whether its office time, friends get together, casual market trip or gym run, I carry my bottle all the time making sure I don’t have to buy a single-use water bottle. This gives a sense of responsibility as we can all take small steps which can collectively be part of the solution we are looking for.

No better object for this transition than Reusable Bags for everyday use

It’s so challenging to implement zero plastic bag but not anymore when you carry reusable cloth bags in your purse or car for a grocery store run. You wouldn’t have to rely on too many thin plastic bags on your way back. Just put all the items in a cloth bag and reuse them as many times as you like.

The advantages of a freshly vanilla latte

Being a huge café latte fan, the most difficult thing was to let go of my coffee shop and get my vanilla later in single use containers. What do I do now? I started treating myself with a stainless-steel coffee bottle. Whenever I crave for coffee, I bring my reusable coffee cup.

Forever, No to Sodas and Plastic-Bottled Drinks

Luckily, I never liked sodas but a light drink once a while never hurt. However, all these drinks that are available in plastic bottles are not only harmful to the health for having high sugar and preservatives but also increases plastic waste. Since I started saying bye plastic, I made sure that I don’t buy these plastic bottles drinks as well. From time to time, I buy juices available in glass or paper-based containers.

Local Farmers is the best bet for fresh and plastic-free shopping

A significant change I have brought in my lifestyle is buying routine fruits and vegetables from local farmers. Their produce is fresh, pesticides free, and promotes domestic production rather than plastic container food items from multinational chains.

However, don’t worry if once you forget your bottle or your reusable bags at home. It happens to everyone. Last week after spending all morning walking with my 5 years old son, he asked for me some water. I don’t want to comment his inquisitive face when he said “Mom you forgot my bottle?.  That’s Ok we are all humans. So, start your eco journey by taking these small steps now and join us in creating a plastic-free and zero-waste world.

Tiny steps will get you to your goal months and months sooner. A little is better than a lot.
